After the crap recently produced by BB in recent years i am not too
sure if they will get the correct mix of personalities. Hopefully this
will be a good series. Who will be watching the housemates enter
tonight?. Also what would you consider to be the best UK Big Bro
series to date?. For me it has to be Big Brother 3.

Big Brother (Reality Show)

When - Wednesday 30th May 2007 on Channel 4
The Live Launch.

Davina McCall gives viewers a first look around the new-look Big
Brother House, before the new batch of housemates move in for this
bigger-than-ever eighth series. Viewers then get the chance to watch
the new housemates' first moments together as they settle in for their
first night in the revamped house.

Channel 4 has said it will not profit from phone lines on the eighth
series. It has halved the cost of taking part in the eviction process
to 25p per call, with 15p spent on administration fees and the rest
going to charity. In a further change to the reality show's voting
process, viewers will no longer be able to participate through text
messages.

CONTESTANTS
(Full credit for the following goes to Wikipedia -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Brother_2007_%28UK%29)

Sam and Amanda
The first two housemates to enter were the identical twins, Sam and
Amanda. It is unclear whether they count as one or two housemates for
nomination and eviction. They are 18 and from Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Lesley
The third housemate to enter was Lesley, a 60-year-old retired head-
hunter who used to be a stand-up comedian, and claims to be an
acquaintance of Prince Charles and Camilla.

Charley
Next was Charley, a 21 year old 'it girl' from London - an ex-
lapdancer - who is related to Manchester United footballer Kieran
Richardson. (Charley's entry was speculated by the British tabloid
press).

Tracey
The next housemate was 36-year old raver Tracey, who works as a
cleaner.

Chanelle
The sixth housemate is Chanelle, 19, from Wakefield, West Yorkshire
who thinks she looks like Victoria Beckham.

Shabnam
The seventh housemate is Shabnam, who describes herself as crazy and
loves clashing make up.

Emily
The eighth housemate is Emily, a 19 year old drama student who is told
she looks like Peaches Geldof. She describes herself as an "indie rock
and roll queen".

Laura
The ninth housemate is Laura, a 23 year old nanny from South Wales.
She wants to train as an embalmer.

Nicky
The tenth housemate is Nicky, 27, a bank worker, born in Bombay but
now living in London. She was adopted at the age of one from Mother
Teresa's orphanage. She expresses views which could be viewed as
misandrynistic, but which Davina McCall laughed off as being likely to
recent 'man trouble'. Her half-brother stars in the British teen
television drama Skins.

Carole
The eleventh housemate is 53 year old Carole, a bisexual former sexual
health worker, political activist and demonstrator from East London.

My early thoughts...

Chanelle & Emily are rather fit. But my early favourite is Tracey. Im
already sick and tired of the screaming twins and Charley.

Finally i thought Davina McCall looked rather pretty. A lot less
gurning than she usually does on opening night.

I dare say if the Tories hadn't closed all the loony bins, that would
have been C4's first port of call for contestants...

Of course they won't make a profit... after they've recouped enough to cover
all the costs of the show and all of the money that makes up the 20% of C4's
annual revenue which BB always accounts for.

After that's taken care of, they won't make a profit(!)

C4's statement has got more spin than Tony Blair!

Not seen any of the BB shows but I know the first winner gave all his
money away for charity or to someone in need, so that would have to be
best part of it. I never got into this show though.

I liked the all star season sans season 6 but not the season before
it.I do agree personalities are important to a reality show.I hate it
when shows like the real world introduce the new season's cast and you
hope it's as good as the first few seasons but it turns out to be yet
another bunch of hot looking, buff twenty somethings picked out of a
hooter's calanders with no personalitys that just go out every night
and get drunk and have orgys in the hottub and yell at each other and
that's all they do.I hope big brother doesn't do that this time. It's
at the point where I find myself hoping that there's at least just one
interesting person I like on these shows. If there's at least one, maybe
I'll watch and put up with the other dull and inane 5.The casting
person is the most important person in my opinion determining who gets
on the show and whether they'll be interesting to watch and I feel
they have taken a back seat in alot of these shows or are changing
their criteria for what to cast for.

Just to pre-empt the tabloids, I would like to copyright the headline "Bitch
Brother", and also the concept of an all lesbo BB house.

The first 4: all have mens names: Charley, Lesley (sometimes a man's name),
Sam and aMANda? Taking the piss? And Charley looks like a Brazilian
tranny! FFS

My money is on a 6 housemate sacking night with 6 blokes brought in to
restore normality. An all female BB house would be pure boredom to watch.
